MingQ Success Story: rfid pallet & container management solution

Overview: Logistics Challenge
At the company's high-volume international export hubs, tens of thousands of cargo units are processed every day. After sorting and consolidation, goods are loaded into metal or plastic cage trolleys before being transferred to cross-dock or outbound loading zones.

As shipment volumes and operational speed accelerated, manual record-keeping and barcode scanning could no longer guarantee real-time visibility. Forklifts and AGVs moved thousands of pallets each day, yet supervisors lacked accurate data on container locations, handling paths, and equipment utilization.

The company sought a smart, automated solution capable of tracking every pallet and container in motion, enabling end-to-end traceability through seamless integration with existing warehouse management systems - turning its handling vehicles into intelligent, data-driven assets.

Benefits / Outcomes:

Real-time visibility of pallets and container movement across warehouse hubs
Automated identification and binding during forklift and AGV operations
Significant reduction in manual scanning and documentation errors
Enhanced workflow efficiency through route optimization and congestion control
Improved asset utilization and traceability for outbound logistics
Increased operational transparency and accountability across the digital network

About the Customer

The company's export warehouse operate under high frequency and pressure processing vast cargo volumes around the clock. After picking and consolidation, goods must be moved quickly by forklifts and AGVs to correct loading areas. However, the legacy process depended on manual barcode scans and written logs, making it difficult to know which trolley or pallet a vehicle was carrying at any given moment.

Without accurate, dynamic location data, warehouse supervisors could not analyze route efficiency or address bottlenecks in traffic flow. The lack of real-time visibility also hindered performance evaluation and workflow optimization. To meet growing export demands and sustain service excellence, the logistics giant required a robust RFID-enabled management system capable of linking forklift, AGV, and pallet data automatically across its central control network.

“With the RFID container and pallet management system, our forklifts and AGVs have become intelligent identifiers. Each cargo movement is automatically captured, recorded, and visible across our digital logistics network. ”
- Warehouse Automation Project Manager, Global Logistics Division

The Solution

MingQ implemented an intelligent RFID Pallet & Container Management Solution that integrates lightweight RFID readers directly onto forklifts and AGVs, enabling automatic tag detection and motion tracking during hadnling operations. Each reader captures tag data from pallets and container cages as they move through designated routes, allowing the system to continuously monitor movement history, loading status, and precise location in real-time.

The solution combines live equipment monitoring with automated data synchronization to the warehouse management and logistics control platforms.

Information on every pallet's journey - from loading to delivery - is now instantly recorded and visualized through the customer's digital dashboard. Forklifts and AGVs therefore function as both transportation assets and mobile data collectors, turning every movement into a digital entry that contributes to intelligent decision-making.

Hardware flexibility also plays a key role: compact RFly-I100 readers are installed for vehicle-mounted use, while RFly-IV166 industrial RFID readers cover critical loading-dock zones, ensuring strong read ranges and consistent performance in high-density environments. By embedding RFID across all handling equipment, the solution forms a connected data network that bridges physical operations with digital oversight, driving accuracy without disrupting workflow.

The MingQ Difference: Results and Benefits

Since implementation, the solution has transformed warehouse management and visibility across the company's export hubs. Pallet and container identification is now fully automated, significantly reducing manual workload and human error. Forklifts enabling real-time traffic and performance analysis.

Warehouse supervisors can now see where each container is located, how long each route tasks, and which vehicles are under or over utilized. The result is improved efficiency, optimized traffic flow, and higher overall throughput within the same warehouse footprint.

By adopting MingQ's RFID Pallet & Container Management Solution, Asia's leading logistics provider has strengthened its digital foundation for future innovation. The project marks a major step toward fully intelligent, data-driven warehouse operations - setting a new benchmark for traceability, agility, and smart automation across Asia's next-generation supply chain.
