RFID technology empowers port containers: a new direction for future logistics
Work Process
Container workshop card writing:When the finished container comes off the production line, the corresponding container information such as the container code is written into the blank electronic tag through the system software and the card writer, and the tag with the code is adsorbed onto the container. The container number is confirmed by the manufacturer's stacker reader system before it leaves the factory.
Container factory reading:After the factory container is confirmed to be transported by trailer out of the production plant to the yard, the reader installed at the factory exit reads the container label information and trailer information (if the label reading fails, the staff at the exit monitoring point can manually enter the container number), and transmits it to the factory monitoring subsystem, which is then uploaded to the central monitoring subsystem via the Internet.
Yard gate entrance reading: When a container enters the yard gate, the reader on the yard entrance gate reads the container and vehicle tags, saves the vehicle information, container information and their matching relationship, arrival time, etc. into the yard management subsystem, and uploads it to the central subsystem at the same time.
Place/retrieve containers in the yard.:After the container enters the yard, the stacker system places the container according to the stacking position assigned by the central subsystem. The on-board reader automatically reads the information of the grabbed container, and the data interacts with the central database in the control room through wireless data transmission. After verification, the container is stacked in the position indicated by the system graphics. When retrieving the container, the stacker system finds the corresponding container according to the graphic instructions, and the reader reads the electronic tag on the container, verifies that it is the container to be picked up, and then removes the container.
When the container is transported out of the yard: the reader system at the yard exit reads the container and vehicle tags, determines whether the container is the one that should be transported out, matches the vehicle information with the container information after confirmation, and saves the information and exit time in the local database and the central database (MAS database). If the container information is read successfully, the staff will remove the tag and recycle it for the next round of application.
Conclusion
This solution is also applicable to container management at major ports and terminals, and can be expanded to the tracking and management of container transportation over long distances across provinces and regions, as well as the management of container transport vehicles.
